A belated Happy New Year folks and welcome to 2017!
I’m so excited to have entered a new year, with the potential to be full of so much hope and positivity.
My personal resolution for this year is to purely focus on the positives in my life; and to be grateful for all the good that comes my way and to always show kindness in both word and deed.
Have you made any resolutions for 2017?
So, last week I came back from a wonderful week’s holiday in my homeland of New Zealand. I can’t begin to express my genuine joy and happiness at spending quality time with family and loved ones – as it should be at Christmastime.
It certainly does put ones thoughts into perspective and what is most important in life.
Once again, my quiet reflections are the inspiration for this short blog post – building and maintaining bridges as a metaphor for life and our connections – stability, strength and reliability.
As my husband and I drove around the beautiful countryside of the Manawatu and Wairarapa in New Zealand in summertime, I couldn’t help but notice all of these old and modern bridges that criss-cross our amazing landscape.
For older bridges there must be so much history and a story behind them, a connection to the past and present. They offer a vital link for people and for the community.
No matter their physical differences whether they are a simple railway bridge, a busy motorway bridge or a humble river bridge, their purpose is still the same – to give support, carry loads and provide direction.
Bridges are a necessity in life because they always keep us connected – stay connected in 2017 folks and follow your path and your dreams (whatever that may be).
Tomorrow, I plan to keep my dream alive for a little bit longer and head up to the sunny Sunshine Coast to relish some surf, sand and sun with the aim of embracing each day with fervour, relaxed fun and pure joy.
Happy holidays and happy travels.
Have a fantastic 2017 wherever you may be in the World!
